Remember, you can charge your phone or anything else you have without the need of the power outlet if you have a solar charger powerful enough to take care of your electronic recharge needs. Well, this is my green side speaking here. This said, not everyone of us can only rely on those solar devices though, but I would assume that some homesteaders can. Indeed, it also depends where you are located in the world to get a more reliable result, since some of us have more or less sunny days. Also, some power banks are made specifically for the use of a small unit such as a phone while others are able to power some larger equipment. If we are talking of the larger sort of generators, the cost of some machines is far to be given, but could come very handy in case of a sudden power outage. They also could power up some necessary units to follow your work, if you are remotely self-employed like I am.
My units are older models, so please, note that anything contained in the links are items I have not tried myself, but checked the many good reviews online.
Prior to purchase anything, I would prefer an item that has been on the market for a while to try retrieving the most possible information available about. This means more customers would have voiced about it. I will certainly opt to buy an unit that lasts instead of one cheaper. I am into reducing the most possible my consumption, and not to buy multiple cheap items that would end up being worse for the environment. My choice will be to invest more money in something of quality that will be durable and functional for many more years after its possible warranty would have expired.
We may have a different approach of our reason(s) to acquire such an unit. For instance, what would be your utilization of it, would it be for your mobile phone only? Would it be for powering a small kitchen appliance (that does not consume that much electricity)? Would only one outlet be enough for you in case the purchase would be exclusively for your phone battery charge? If you were to look for several outlets on the same unit, would they need to be the same type or distinct? Would its color or design matter too, or would only its functionality be important to you? And what about its size and portability?
Here are some models I found for different budgets depending on their purpose & according to people’s diverse needs for them.

For this generator below, since the solar panel is optional in the purchase, I searched what customers had bought with, and I concluded this solar panel must be fitting this generator. Remember, I do not possess any of those devices in those links. The ones I have at home are much older models. This means, I believe the solar panel I am showing you in this second link below matches this particular solar generator, but I am not totally sure of this. If you decided on purchasing it, I would suggest you to contact the seller (who will know better) before ordering this solar panel. A return would only make a bigger footprint. It would be a waste of time for you, and would considerably delay your use of the right solar panel.

Now, there are other rechargeable units, and those ones do not power up, like recharging regular batteries, and it could be AAA, AA, C, D, or 9V. This article is only referring to solar power banks, & solar power stations/generators.
Do you want to buy a rechargeable unit to reduce the use of your home outlet thinking green, saving money, or both? Maybe you homestead or are going camping. Of course, the choice of your unit will vary according of those particular needs of yours.
Personally, I am always trying to conserve electricity and resources the most possible I can. I do not do it necessarily for saving money. My goal is to consume less energy. All of this for the non-humans. Let me explain why, if you don’t me know yet, because you are new on my site. Helping Mother Nature, I will help wildlife. You see, all is connected. My purpose in life is to help saving the other species (avoiding them needless harm and sparing their life). Another part of my purpose in life is to bring some happiness in people’s life in many different ways. I might write about this sometimes. Will see…
Since energy conservation is so important to me, I look inside anything I can that is ecologically sound. Sustainability became the key word in my daily life. This is actually something I plan to write about in the future. I want to explain how I passed from that consumerist I was to where I am now.
